Is there a way to make the picker limit itself to show only, say, two items at a time, then be scrollable within?
From playing around with the styling, it looks like the most important part is to set the itemStyle prop and define the height value there. You'll probably also want to style the Picker component itself and set the height value to be the same for the best looking results, but you don't need to do that.
Here's a Snack showing a full example for varying heights code copy pasted below :. Set the Picker 's itemStyle height to the height of one: Set its style height to Remove flex: 1 if it exists. Learn more.

About trying to show two rows: Showing one item looks to be around a height of You can't really show exactly two items in iOS because of how the native Picker component is designed. It'll show parts of what's above and below the currently selected value.
You'll have to play around with the height to find something that works for you. Michael Cheng Michael Cheng 6, 3 3 gold badges 34 34 silver badges 40 40 bronze badges. Adrian Bartholomew Adrian Bartholomew 1, 4 4 gold badges 16 16 silver badges 30 30 bronze badges.Sabic b5823 hdpe

I would like to update the state of a component when a date is selected from the React-DatePicker. I am getting some odd behavior below. The second and third logs should have the same value. Can anyone explain to me why this weird behavior is occurring?
ISSUE My handleChangeDate function will fire when a date is provided and the date in milliseconds will log to the console, but the dueDate is logged as being the previous value it should have been. Render I am keeping the date picker simple at the moment to minimize potential bugs.
Only the selected date is passed in from the state and the handleChangeDate method for a selected date. This means that although you call console. Accessing this. There is no guarantee of synchronous operation of calls to setState and calls may be batched for performance gains.

What is the purpose of this method? It only returns true in all the cases.December 10, 2 min read Today, almost every application has some kind of date or time picker implemented.
We use them to set reminders, mark special dates in a calendar, set up an alarm, etc. No one criterion can determine the best datepicker for your app; you need to take all the above points into equal consideration. This datepicker package has the most GitHub stars of the three options 1, and is the oldest datepicker on the list.
It was uploaded to Github four years ago and until recently was the most-used picker in the React Native project. For these reasons, I do not recommend using this package in newer React Native projects.
However, it still may be usable if you need to add support for a datepicker in an older project. The 1. This makes it a good candidate for testing. In my experience, when building cross-platform React Native apps, some clients focus more on iOS before building an Android version of their app. Therefore, it often makes sense to build the entire app with an iOS-like appearance, and this package is great for that.
React Native DateTimePicker is implemented in accordance with iOS and Android development guidelines and uses its native system components under the hood. This package is also actively maintained by the React Native community, which is responsible for the best available open-source libraries in React Native.
At the time of writing, the last commit was made on Sept. It has a simple installation guide and a helpful example usage section. Not only does it provide a native user experience, but it is also supported by the fantastic React Native community.
